(July 16, 2012)... Rochester Knighthawks forward Stephen Keogh made national TV with his between-the-legs goal Friday night for the Hamilton Nationals. The former Syracuse University star has been known for his creative goals. His tally against the Ohio Machine in Hamilton earned him No. 6 on SportsCenter's Top 10 list.
Keogh’s featured goal at 5:57 of the second quarter pulled Hamilton within one goal at 8-7. He scored after scooping up a loose ball with his back to the net, then shoveling a shot between his legs to beat Ohio goalie Brian Phipps.
He finished the game with two goals and one assist, as Hamilton was edged 13-12 by the Ohio Machine. The Nationals got revenge on the Machine the following night, earning a 14-12 victory. Keogh again scored twice to finish the weekend with four goals and one assist.
This season, he has played seven Major League Lacrosse games with the Nationals. The Toronto native is tied for the team lead with 18 goals, and his 23 points are tied for third best.
Keogh completed his rookie season in the National Lacrosse League with a World Championship. The second overall pick also earned All-Rookie Team honors after a 58-point season.
