Billy Dee Smith to play in his 200th NLL game
(February 11, 2018)… The Rochester Knighthawks conclude their two-game in two-night stretch today with a 6:05 p.m. showdown in Duluth, Ga. against the Georgia Swarm. The game will be broadcast on 107.3 The Bull and on the iHeartRadio app. Fans can also watch the contest on NLL TV (NLLTV.com).
The Knighthawks and Swarm are both trying to finish the weekend with a win after suffering setbacks last night. Rochester (2-6) was edged by the Toronto Rock 12-9, while Georgia (3-4) was dumped by the Buffalo Bandits 18-9.
All-Time Series: Rochester is 16-12 lifetime against the Swarm franchise. The game on Sunday is the second of three meetings against the Knighthawks. The last time they met, Rochester lost a close one, 14-11, at Infinite Energy Arena.
Scouting the Knighthawks: Last night, Joe Resetarits led the offense with four goals to tie his single-game career high. Cody Jamieson posted three points (1+2), while Graeme Hossack, Brad Gillies and Josh Currier each scored one goal and chipped in one assist. Goalie Matt Vinc turned aside 45 shots to remain second in the league in saves with 301. “Vno” is also third in the NLL with a .786 save percentage. Rookie Jake Withers won 13 draws Saturday and leads the league with an incredible .671 faceoff winning percentage.
Holy Hossack: In the last two games, Graeme Hossack has three goals, two assists, and 13 loose balls, and caused four turnovers.
Player Moves: The Knighthawks announced today that they have activated forward Quinn Powless. It marks the first action of the year for Powless, who has 25 points (10+15) in 20 games over his three seasons in the NLL. In a related move, Rochester placed forward Dan Dawson on the short-term hold out list.

Scouting the Swarm: Georgia suffered its worst defeat of the season on Saturday, falling 18-9 to Buffalo. The loss ended the Swarm’s two-game winning streak. Lyle and Miles Thompson led the way offensively as they each posted four-point games. Lyle Thompson is second on the team in points with 32, while Shayne Jackson owns the top spot with 38.
Next Game: The Knighthawks will honor the roots of the game on Native American Night when they host the Saskatchewan Rush on Saturday, Feb. 17. The 7:30 p.m. game will include Native American music, Fancy Dancers, artisans and special guests. Prior to the game, the Knighthawks will honor Master Gunnery Sergeant Sean Bomberry for his 26 years of service in the United State Marine Corps.
