DIk2YsYW0AE17GZ.jpg(September 1, 2017)… The Rochester Knighthawks are pledging their support for flood relief efforts in Texas after Tropical Depression Harvey dropped in excess of 50 inches of rain in Houston and along the Gulf Coast.
The devastation has not only displaced hundreds of thousands of people, but impacted a member of the Knighthawks family as well.
“It hits close to home for me because my family lives in some of the hardest hit areas in southeast Texas,” said Knighthawks marketing manager Avery Light. “When (merchandise manager) Courtney (Wittmeyer) brought this idea up to me, we worked together to figure out how to help in some way.”
Over the next week, for every item purchased at the Knighthawks team store, the team will donate an item of equal value to the United Way of Greater Houston. The Knighthawks have also already earmarked 100 sweatshirts and T-shirts for the United Way Flood Relief Fund on Thursday's “Day of Giving” in Houston.

The Rochester Knighthawks Charitable Foundation is also accepting donations for the United Way’s Flood Relief Fund. To donate go to Fans who make a donation of $50 or more will receive a pair of ticket vouchers for the 2018 season.
