Brett Scheuer.jpg(December 16, 2016)… When Brett Scheuer’s kids started playing lacrosse, he learned about the Rochester Knighthawks. After hearing so much about Rochester’s professional indoor lacrosse team, he took his family to The Blue Cross Arena. It was at the height of the Knighthawks’ run to three straight Champion’s Cups.

The on-field atmosphere and excitement was palpable. They also loved the interaction with the players at the autograph sessions and during their numerous community programs. For the past five seasons, the family has been season ticket holders. This week, we spotlight Brett Scheuer.

What first brought you to a Knighthawks game?
Our kids started playing lacrosse and the organization was promoting the Knighthawks.

What is your favorite part of the game(s)?
I love the family atmosphere, both at the games and when I go to the office or the store. Everyone makes me feel very welcome. I really like the fact that the players go out to schools and the team takes part in so many different community events. I am impressed with the culture of developing new fans by allowing the youth teams to play on the field and welcome the team via the tunnel at the beginning of the games. After the games, even though the players are exhausted and it may have been a tough loss, they still take time to sign autographs and interact with the fans in a positive way. I always feel like we have a personal connection to the organization and each of the players. There seems to always be an effort to better serve the fan by developing new methods to bring fans into the sport, whether it's by incentives at the arena or providing new ways for fans to watch games at home.

Favorite memory as a fan:
My favorite memory is being present for the championship win in 2014. It was an awesome series and a great experience to take part in the celebration of the third straight championship.
